Welcome to the 5th annual Georgia Jeep Invasion at Morris Mountain—a three-day Jeep event filled with epic off-roading, unforgettable camaraderie, and a weekend dedicated to giving back. In this video, I’ll take you along for the ride as we dive into everything this incredible event had to offer, from setting up camp to tackling some of the toughest trails, and even a special night ride you won’t want to miss!
Day 1: Arriving At The Jeep Event
We kicked off the weekend by arriving at the Georgia Jeep Invasion, where I claimed my camping spot for the next three days. If you’ve been following the Road Rash channel, you know that the Road Rash Jeep has undergone some serious upgrades—it’s now a full-on overlander! With our new Naturnest Rooftop Tent, 270-degree Awning, kitchen, and shower setup, I was ready to make this spot my home base. After getting camp set up, I jumped in and out of other Jeeps, capturing footage of all the action at the Jeep event. I took some time to walk around, introduce myself to new Jeepers, check out some incredible rigs, and hang out with friends from The Georgia Jeep Alliance Jeep Club.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, it was time for one of the most anticipated events of the weekend—our annual night ride! This exclusive event, only available at the Georgia Jeep Invasion, had everyone lighting up their under-glow and neons as we ventured out on the Heidi Trail, our stock Jeep trail. After a few hours of challenging yet exhilarating exploration, we returned to base camp for the evening’s award ceremony, where trophies were handed out for the best-lit Jeep and the most appealing rig. Afterward, I climbed up into my rooftop tent, relaxed, and watched a movie to end the night.
Day 2: Georgia Jeep Invasion At Morris Mountain
After a great night’s sleep in the rooftop tent, I woke up to a peaceful and serene campsite. The sun was just beginning to rise, and everything looked fresh and ready for another day of adventure. With breakfast and coffee in hand, I took a moment to soak in the calm before the storm—because in just an hour, the campsite would be bustling with Jeeps lining up for trail rides and tackling the obstacle course.
Rock Crawling The G.O.A.T. Trail
The day’s main event was the G.O.A.T. Trail, our modified hard trail. I hopped in with Justin Kemp, VP of The Georgia Jeep Alliance Jeep Club in his beast of a Jeep, IBEX. Right out of the gate, we faced challenges—two Jeeps got stuck on the first obstacle and had to winch their way up the rocks. But that’s what makes it fun, right? We pressed on, tackling each obstacle as it came.
Then, we hit the second obstacle, Rock ’n Roll—by far my favorite at Morris Mountain. While I didn’t drive the Road Rash Jeep this time, it was just as thrilling to document all the first-time explorers as they took on the Rock ’n Roll obstacle. Watching them tackle this beast of a challenge brought back memories of my own first attempt, and it was incredible to see the excitement and determination on their faces.
After some intense trail time, we headed back to base camp for lunch, just in time to walk around and check out all the awesome vendors on-site.
Exploring The Heidi Trail
Later in the day, we hit the Heidi Trail again, this time with 17 other Jeeps, navigating some tough spots that tested our rigs. As the day wound down, I returned to camp, made dinner, and took a hot shower thanks to my Camplux hot water heater. The evening ended with an awards ceremony, where we celebrated our accomplishments and announced the total amount raised for charity—a truly heartwarming moment.
Day 3: Breaking Down The Overlander
Waking up on the final day, I was feeling the effects of the weekend—sore but satisfied. I brewed my morning coffee and headed up to base camp for an early Sunday church service led by Mr. Dave Sneed. It was the perfect way to close out the weekend. Afterward, I headed back to camp, packed up my rooftop tent, and started the process of breaking down camp. With everything packed up and ready to go, I took one last look around before hitting the road home.
This weekend was about more than just off-roading and adventure—it was about community, camaraderie, and giving back. Thanks for joining me and The Georgia Jeep Alliance Jeep Club on this journey.
