Best Off-Road Tires

Let’s rewind to February 2021. My Jeep had 63,751 miles on it, and I was itching to take it on some serious off-road adventures. There was just one problem—my old tires weren’t up for the job. I needed a set of mud tires that could handle rough terrain without breaking the bank. Like many of you, I was looking for a balance between performance and price, especially since the economy was still feeling the effects of COVID-19.

1. Rock Crawling

One of the first real tests for the Kenda Klevers was rock crawling. If you’ve ever been to places like Gulches or Morris Mountain, you know the terrain can be brutal. The Kendas provided excellent grip and traction, even when I dropped the tire pressure to improve handling. Their strong sidewalls held up against sharp rocks, and I never had to worry about punctures or damage.

2. Sand

When I took my Jeep to Florida for some sand driving, I was a little concerned about how these mud tires would perform. Mud tires are typically not ideal for sand, but the Kenda Klevers impressed me once again. With the PSI dropped to around 12, I had no trouble navigating through the deep sand, and the tires never bogged down.

3. Mud and Mixed Terrains

Mud is where these tires really shine. The Kenda Klever M/Ts are designed to dig in and provide traction in muddy conditions, and they did not disappoint. Whether I was plowing through thick, sticky mud or a mix of mud and rock, the tires gave me the confidence to keep pushing forward.

One of the most impressive aspects of these tires has been their durability. After driving 63,737 miles, the tread wear has been minimal. I’ve been diligent about rotating the tires every 6,000 miles, which I highly recommend if you want to maximize the life of your tires. The wear pattern is even across all four tires, and there’s plenty of tread left for future adventures.

Unlike other tires I’ve used in the past, the Kenda Klevers have shown no signs of chipping or gashing, even after being exposed to harsh conditions. These tires are built to last, and they’ve certainly proven their worth over the past three years.

So, after all this time, would I recommend the Kenda Klever M/Ts? Absolutely. These tires may not have the same name recognition as some of the more expensive brands, but they perform just as well, if not better, in many cases. Their combination of affordability, durability, and off-road performance makes them a top choice for anyone looking to upgrade their tires without breaking the bank.
