After installing a 4″ lift on the Road Rash Jeep, my wife was struggling to get in and out of the rig. In a quick act of desperation, I ordered a set of cheap tube style sidesteps to help her get in. After living with these for about a year, I realized these step sides only lowered the footing by 4.5″. This was still very much a struggle for my wife. In addition, they were made in a very cheap material and they bent very easily, adding next to no protection to the Jeep while off roading.

The E1 Electric Running Boards are one of their latest products, and I couldn’t wait to try them out. These running boards are designed to automatically deploy when a door is opened, providing easy access to the Jeep lowering to just 17″ from the ground and reducing the risk of slipping or tripping. When the doors are closed, the running boards retract seamlessly into the body of the Jeep, preserving ground clearance and protecting the undercarriage from rocks, debris, and other hazards.
Installation of the running boards was straightforward, and the instructions provided by Go Rhino were clear and concise. The install is slightly different for a Jeep JK vs a Jeep JL, with the addition of a rear relocation bracket needed for the JK. Once installed, I was impressed by how sturdy and secure the running boards felt. They were able to support my weight without any wobbling or flexing, and the grip on the step surface provided excellent traction even when wet. The addition of the LED lights installed on the side of the Jeep illuminate the running boards for clear footing in the evening.
Overall, I am extremely impressed with the Go Rhino E1 Electric Running Boards and the quality of their product. They are well-built, functional, and stylish, and they add a significant amount of convenience and safety to my vehicle. I am honored and proud to represent Go Rhino and their outstanding products.
